About this place
Prepared briskly using two woks, the Chinese curry yakisoba is one of Yayoitei's standout creations. Meat and vegetables are stir-fried and simmered in Chinese broth with curry paste, then thickened into a glossy sauce poured over freshly boiled noodles that have been seared in the wok. The savory Chinese stock and warming spices cling tightly to the noodles, delivering a hearty, deeply flavorful dish that satisfies a serious appetite.
Among the noodle selections, the shop's miso ramen and miso butter ramen enjoy dedicated followings. The rich miso profile is also available in tsukemen dipping noodle form, including a miso butter tsukemen option. Diners can also pair wok-charred fried rice with a half ramen, or choose from generous rice meals like the stamina teishoku and spicy miso pork set, showcasing the comforting versatility typical of an unpretentious neighborhood Chinese eatery.
Crispy on the bottom with pleasantly chewy skins, the gyoza make a natural companion to beer and are frequently ordered as boxed takeout gifts. Alongside counter seats, a tatami-mat seating area in the back accommodates everything from quick solo lunches to relaxed evening drinks. Aside from closing on Tuesdays, the restaurant operates from 10:00 to 4:30 the following morning, making it a reliable refuge for late shifts and midnight cravings. Note that payment is cash only, so it is best to keep coins and bills handy.
